Solidarity is the party founded by the Members of the Scottish Parliament, Rosemary Byrne MSP and Tommy Sheridan MSP, and other socialists in 2006. Many of us were former members of the SSP but left in the wake of the attacks made on Tommy and us by the News of the World, aided and abetted by a clique, in and around the leadership of that organisation. That clique refused to act on the democratic will of the party and closed the structures and party offices to socialists.
